My Kind of Food Photography

Since my hobby of cooking is back, most of the picture I took is the food.
Food I ate or food I've cooked.
I called my food photography as FOODthography  :-D

I don't know exactly the rule of food photography.
The first rule I made to take a picture of a food is "Don't put the food on the floor...!" Oh, Please....!!! don't make the floor as a background of your food. It's like that you throw away the food.
Please...respect the food!

So many times I saw people upload their "food photography" pictures in their social media, and I know that the food is put on the floor! OK, even if you don't have a table to put the food, why don't you just cover your floor with a piece of white sheet or a big white carton paper? It would be nice huh...?

Well, I make my own rule to make for my FOODthography;

1. Use white or light color background.   The white or light background will show your food more clean and bright. 
2. Do the shoot out door so you can get a natural light from the sun. So if you use phone camera that don't have flash light, the sun will help :-)
3. Make the food as the star of the picture and make the food says "eat me..!"
4. If possible, show how to eat the food.  Put spoon, fork or chopsticks beside the food
5. what else..? mmmmm...I'm still thinking about it... :-)

I took these pictures about 2 years ago, when I don't have knowledge to make this bolg :P.  So, this is a very late post hahahaaaa....

Pastel tutup, kroket & apple pastry

I put the food on the white cutting board and didn't make the food say "eat me" because I just want to gather this three kind of food as a flower bouquet :-)

The yellow square is a pastel tutup.  I put a little red chili on it just to make a contrast color.
The two spheres beside pastel tutup are kroket kentang.  I put 2 green chilies beside them to show that we can eat them with chilies.
The 2 square webbing are apple pastries.  I put red and green apple skins as branches so they look like flowers bouquet I want :-)

Mil-cho-coff-bis
(milk chocolate coffee and biscuits) pudding

I brought a brass of pudding I made to enjoy with collage at the office after lunch.  We all gathering at the meeting room and ate the pudding.

The pudding made from Milk, chocolate, cofee & biscuits.  I shoot the last piece of the pudding.  It's show the layer inside the pudding.  I think this picture represent the food to say "please...eat me..!"
Don't you think so..? :-p

*capek juga ya ngomong pake bahasa inggris....switch ah ke bahasa sendiri heheheee...*

Ok, lanjut ya.... berikut adalah foto-foto kue dagangan saya menjelang lebaran tahun 2011.  Semua kue-kue ini saya buat bersamaan dalam satu hari.  Dan seperti biasanya, sebelum kue-kue ini di ambil para pemesan, saya pejeng dulu buat "modal" jualan :-D

Fruit Pie

Foto fruit pie ini saya ambil pagi hari di bawah jam 10 pagi.  Saya ambil di luar ruangan (teras rumah) untuk mendapatkan cahaya alami.
Sebenarnya saya meletakkan ini di lantai. Tapi, saya gunakan selembar kain putih sebagai alasnya.  Pada saat itu sebenarnya saya sudah punya kamera DSLR (*baru loooh... :-P) jadi saya gunakan kedua kamera saya (tetep ya blacberry & the brand new DSLR).
Tapi, untuk kecepatan publikasi, saya gunakan kamera BB.  Biar cepet bisa jadi profile picture & dapet komen dari temen-temen maksudnyaaaa..... *tuuuh...moncong DSLR ikut kefoto juga deh*

Fruit pie ini bukan pesanan cutomer, tapi sengaja saya buat untuk hantaran ke tetangga sebagai balasan hantarannya karena saat itu menjelang lebaran tahun 2011.

Buah jeruk & strawberry sengaja saya tebarkan di sekeliling kue, untuk pemanis dan menunjukkan bahwa pie ini terbuat dari buah-buahan tersebut.  Sebenarnya isi vlanya juga menggunakan potongan mangga.  Tetapi buah mangga & kiwinya sudah habis, nggak bisa ikutan mejeng.  hehehe....

Banana Cake

Cake pisang ini pesanan dari seorang kawan untuk hantaran ke tetangganya.  Proses pemotretan sama dengan fruit pie.  Selembar kain putih dan cahaya alami dari Allah Yang Maha Kuasa tetap menjadi andalan saya.  Melanggar aturan saya sendiri, bahwa foto makanan harus punya penampilan "...please eat me.." saya letakkan sesisir pisang & 3 butir telur untuk menunjukkan bahwa ini adalah kue yang terbuat dari pisang dan menggunakan telur sebagai salah satu bahan pembuatannya.
Saya maunya sih, penampilan foto yang cantik dan biar orang tau ini tu kue apa gitu....lagi pula ini untuk keperluan dagang, jadi kue nggak perlu di potong karena customer justru harus tau penampakan utuhnya yang cantik... (ngomong gini karena waktu itu group photography di kantor saya ada yang protes foto-foto saya ini, katanya kalau foto makanan tu harus nunjukin bagaimana isinya dsb...bla...bla...bla...)

Brownies

Pemotretan si brownies ini juga sama.  Sekali lagi, saya juga menunjukkan beberapa bahan dasar pembuat makanan ini.

Cake Tape with Prune

Nah, yang ini cake tape dengan kismis.  Awalnya, saya menaburkan kismis sebagai pemanis foto ini.  Tapi kok ya bukannya jadi manis, malah kelihatan seperti (maaf) tahi tikus...! hahahaaaa....
Karena kebetulan saat itu bulan puasa, dan persediaan kurma di rumah lagi banyak, saya ambil aja serumpun kurma sebagai pemanis foto ini.  MUngkin agak-agak nyambung juga ya....karena kan kismis itu hampir mirip-miprip sama kurma hehehe.... (maksa...)

Puding Sutra Jeruk

Kalau yang ini, fotonya saya ambil di dalam ruangan.  Alasnya itu talenan warna putih.  Begitu fotonya jadi, saya kaget juga sih....kok bisa bagus ya... *muji diri sendiri*

Yaaah....begitulah...hasil foto saya pake kamera BB Gemini.  Mungkin masih banyak orang-orang yang  pake BB dan hasilnya jauuuuuh....lebih bagus dari pada saya.
